Culture & Religion

  • It is only in India where Religion & Culture is so vibrant that you will find new colors to every turn you make in this land.

In India Culture and Religion has been walking hand in hand. Once to have been known as the Golden Bird of the east, numerous emperors and Western civilizations have entered the boundaries of this country and mesmerized by its wealth and beauty were compelled to inhabit and further continue their legacy on this very land. This past interventions in history is the true base India’s Heritage.

Today India as per its constitution is a sovereign and secular democracy, because it poses to be a unique example to the world to be home to almost all the religion in the world. Though their heart beat as one, but cruising through the 29 states, one will be surprised to see the distinct values and principles, language and cultural diversities that each state posses. It is definitely something that we can find elsewhere.

In brief India can easily be considered to be a sort of museum, with the richest collection of various monuments, religious buildings and a vast and diverse historic storyline unique to the world. The collection is so vast that one visit alone can merely be the beginning to knowing only a very little portion.

Festivals & Celebrations

  • Indian Festivals & Celebration are truly integral part of every Indian’s life. It bestows ray of hope, suppresses sorrow and provides joy.

There is a saying that, the months in a calendar year are limited to 12 but in India the celebrations and festivities are almost unlimited. That is true, because throughout the year there is always some mega occasion to celebrate.

From a religious perspective according to religious scriptures in Hinduism alone there are 33Crore deities. Now though most of this enormous number is just different incarnations. Then there are Islamic celebrations like Id, Muharam etc and Christian celebrations like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Apart from the religious sentiments there are so many cultural celebrations that go on throughout the year. Therefore when it comes to festivities India is very wealthy.

Therefore no matter which time of the year you plan to visit India, it is possible that most likely you will witness some festival ongoing. Although to witness the actual beauty of these festivals it is advised that one makes a note of the exact dates of the most prime festivals as per the locations and plan their trip accordingly.

Well there isn’t joy in lives of everyone throughout the year, but it is these festivals and celebrations that do become prudent opportunities to keep aside all the grief and indulge into the harmony of joy and happiness.

Food & Drink

  • In India when it comes to food the question is how much can you eat, it’s not the quantity but the variety that is being offered.

Much like the festivals and cultural diversities in India, food is also a primary point of interest. There are hundreds of cuisines in India. When looking for good food, it can be found in each and every corner. Unlike many countries instead of a burger and hot dog van the streets of India is filled with petit food stall offering some mouth watering heavy and light dishes which comes at a very reasonable price.

Food in India is more like a race but only the colors are not limited to black and white. It is quite astonishing to see how the same elements like Meat, Fish, Dairy and Vegetables are cooked differently following different recipes and traditional concepts to recreate an entirely new dish. Also a very important ingredient among these dishes that highly influences the taste is the water, which is not the same all throughout the land.

Some of the foods that are listed among the taste seeker’s delight are Biryani from Lucknow and Hyderabad, Dosa and Uthhapam from South India, Tandoor from Punjab, the inevitable Vegetable delights of Rajasthan and Gujrat and the exquisite fish curry from Bengal. Apart from main course dishes the Indian cuisine offers plethora of traditional drinks that include Lassi from North and North West India, Burani in the Central and North central region which are an excellent refreshment drink.

History & Heritage

  • If the Golden Bird has any wealth left, it is probably its rich heritage that still is rigid enough to ring the bell of the past in one glimpse.

Throughout the years with numerous interventions from various cults India has definitely gained a lot than it lost. A solemn example is the historical monuments and artifact that is now memoir of heritage. Prior to these invasions the then present kings and emperors were also very much devoted towards Art and Architecture.

Since the great epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata and down the road during the reign of the English East India Company, India has flourished in leaps and bounds in terms of Heritage. All through the stretch of this land there are plenty numbers of Temples, Mosques and Monasteries. These hugely contribute towards the collection of historical monuments in India.

Keeping the religious buildings from history aside India has plenty more to offer in terms of Art, Architecture and cultural heritage. With the rise and demise of every empire to have ruled over this very soil, India had become the canvas of every ruling King and Emperor to portray their symbol of power, love and protective territory.

Some of the famous historical buildings comprise of the Taj Mahal in Agra, Red fort in Delhi, Dilwara temples in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, the ancient temples of Kanchipuram and South India, Sanchi Stupa at Madhya Pradesh, the Victoria Memorial in Calcutta and plenty more.
